Optimisation and Simulation Specialist

Location:
The role will be located in the DMI HQ in the National Technology Park, Castletroy, Limerick, Ireland, with the option to work remotely on a hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Role overview:
With this role you will work as part of a Data Science team to support DMI and its clients. Together with the Product Twin and Production Twin teams, the successful candidate will optimise and simulate the digital twin of production lines, both on new and legacy processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Convey technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences using the appropriate level of detail for the target audience.
- Scope, plan and execute digital twin projects to deliver tangible improvements to manufacturing production operations.

Key Skills and Competencies:
Experience Required
- Integration of mechatronic components in a manufacturing cell.
- Validate speeds, parameters, changeovers, and client investment optimization through virtual systems before start-up.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners in a global setup.
- Familiarity with PLM, Systems Engineering (MBSE), Modularization, Digital Manufacturing or Supply Chain implementation programs is highly desirable.
- Holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems, or a related technical field.
The following experience would be an advantage
- Experience with Python, Matlab or R, is a plus.
- A background in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Processes is also an advantage.
